- Consistent location — We use the same Australian postcode across all quotes to eliminate geographic pricing differences
- Multiple providers — We collect quotes from major Australian pet insurance providers for each breed
This approach ensures our comparisons are apples-to-apples — something that’s surprisingly rare in the pet insurance comparison space.

Our comparison labels are based on objective, factual criteria — not subjective opinions or commercial relationships. Here’s exactly how we determine our labels:
- 💰 Lowest Price — The provider with the lowest monthly premium in our comparison for that specific breed. Simple as that.
- 🛡️ Most Comprehensive — Determined by a three-tier ranking system:
- Highest annual benefit limit
- If tied, highest benefit percentage (reimbursement rate)
- If still tied, lowest excess amount
These criteria are applied consistently across every breed comparison on our site. No provider can pay to influence these labels.
📅 Data Freshness
Pet insurance prices change over time. To maintain accuracy:
- We update our price data regularly by re-scraping quotes from provider websites
- Every comparison on our site displays the date when prices were last collected
- If you notice pricing that appears outdated, please let us know so we can refresh it
We clearly display “Prices last updated” dates on our comparison articles so you always know how current the information is.
